Analysis of mortality from breast cancer in selected European countries
Rathouská, Michaela ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee)
Analysis of mortality from breast cancer in selected European countries Malignant neoplasms are in most European countries the second most common cause of death. The aim of this work is to describe the evolution of mortality of women which is caused by breast cancer. It describes this evolution in the years of 1980-2007 in the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Sweden. Development of mortality is set into the broader connections with a mortality rate of more frequent causes of death and certain other neoplasms in women. Work analyzes mortality by age, the incidence, and it also shows screening programs and international comparisons. Part of this work also deals with risk factors, prevention and treatment options. In all analyzed countries in analyzed period there have been decline of mortality from neoplasm, while the incidence increased. There was a shift of mortality to higher age , particularly in relation to improving health care and its increasing availability. The incidence was observed moving from the oldest to the younger age group, especially in due to introduction of the national mammography screening.
Development of total mortality and mortality from selected causes of death in the Czech and Slovak regions since 2001
Mondeková, Alexandra ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Maláková, Kateřina (referee)
The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse total mortality and selected causes of death in Czechia and Slovakia, based at regional level. It means a comparison of their development for each region in both countries. The analyse is monitored from 2001 to 2018. The first part of the analysis is devoted to the analysis of the total mortality using various indicators as a life expectancy at birth and life expectancy at 65 years. Also, this part is finished by decomposition method which complements the results of life expectancy at birth. Following the development of total mortality, second part of the analysis is about selected causes of death. Only the diseases that are most numerous in both countries were chosen for this part of the thesis. In terms of total mortality, the main result is that mortality rates are improving in the Czechia and Slovakia, which is reflected in increasing of life expectancy. As part of the analysis of mortality from selected causes of death, it was found that during the observed period there was a decrease in the intensity of mortality from the category of diseases of the circulatory system. The trend from mortality in cancer is slightly different, because while the intensity of mortality is declining in the Czechia, in Slovakia the trend is very slow for men and essentially...
Regional comparative analysis of mortality from selected diseases in Czechia and Sweden during the period 2001-2015
Lenz, Patrik ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Velková, Alice (referee)
Regional comparative analysis of mortality from selected diseases in Czechia and Sweden during the period 2001-2015 Abstract The aim of this thesis is analysis of the regional population mortality development due to two the most frequent groups causes of death related to the both sexes in Czechia and Sweden during the period 2001-2015. Standardized mortality rate is used for the assessment of mortality development in the monitored period. Two the most frequent causes of death for both sexes during the period 2001-2015 in Czechia and Sweden were cardiovascular diseases and neoplasms, which represented over half majority of all death causes. There was a significant mortality rate decline in case of both sexes in Czechia compared to Sweden in the reviewed period, however the standardized mortality rates were lower in the whole monitored period in Sweden. The most significant mortality rates decrease for both sexes in Czechia and Sweden was reported in case of cardiovascular diseases. Larger interregional mortality differences due to malignant neoplasms and cardiovascular diseases were registered in Czechia. In both countries, regional mortality differentiation due to cardiovascular diseases was higher in case of males in contrast to mortality caused by malignant neoplasms which was higher for females. The...

Analysis of the Czech population mortality by causes of death
NEDELČEV, Marek
The main aim of this thesis is an analysis of mortality by causes of death in the districts of the Czech Republic. Recent changes in the mortality rate of cardiovascular diseases and neoplasms in the Czech Republic
Valášková, Veronika ; Pechholdová, Markéta (advisor) ; Šimpach, Ondřej (referee)
The aim of my dissertation is to describe and compare recent changes in the mortality rate of two of the most common causes of death in the Czech Republic. I divided my work into two main parts. The first part of my dissertation is theoretical and consists of an inventory of data sources that I used, list of basic concepts related to mortality, coding of causes of death, history of international classification of diseases, institutions dealing with these issues, and concluding the theoretical essay, the term cardiovascular revolution is introduced. In the second part, at first, I analyse the development of the overall mortality, which is followed by the comparison of the development of mortality of neoplasms' selected causes and diseases of the circulatory system, using the standardized measures.
